Pontus Braunerhjelm holds the Economics Chair in International Business and Entrepreneurship
at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm and has also been Managing Director of the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum since 2008.
The core of his publications is related to issues concerned with industrial economics
and industrial dynamics, but also include contributions related to international
economics and economic geography with emphasis on small businesses, entrepreneurship,
innovation and internationalization. He has extensive contacts with decision-makers
in political and business spheres at national and EU levels.
Pontus Braunerhjelms current research includes entrepreneurship, regulation and market dynamics.
It deals with several aspects of regulation and its impact on entrepreneurship and
market dynamism. Another area of research is the project the Economics of Entrepreneurship,
which includes several areas, such as entrepreneurship and taxes, entrepreneurship and
labour mobility, academic entrepreneurship, high-performing entrepreneurship,
entrepreneurial spin-offs, institutions and entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship
and venture capital. Altogether nine teams are addressing these issues, including top
international scholars such as Joshua Gans, Roger Gordon, Steven Klepper, Josh Lerner
and Marie Thursby, working closely together with relatively junior but distinguished
Swedish researcher.
