What is a good democracy?

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) is an intergovernmental organization working for sustainable democracy worldwide through stronger democratic institutions and processes, and more sustainable, effective and legitimate democracy. IDEA method is to raise the level of knowledge in key areas of expertise, such as electoral processes, constitution building, political participation and representation, development, gender, diversity, conflict and security.

The organization is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and has offices in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and West Asia and North Africa regions. IDEA is a Permanent Observer to the United Nations.
