Giampiero Salvi earned a M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’and is today Associate professor in Computer Science and Speech Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Salvi is specialized in machine learning methods with applications to speech processing and recognition. During his PhD studies, he developed the low latency phoneme recogniser in the Synface prototype. He is also co-founder of the spin-off company SynFace AB.
