Marta Szebehely is a professor of Social Work at Stockholm University. She has been studying care services, in particular eldercare, since the mid 1980s and has been involved in several comparative projects on care from social policy and gender perspectives.
At present she is leading a six-year research programme (2007-2012): Transformations of Care – Living the consequences of changing public policies. Within the Nordic Centre of Excellence REASSESS (Reassessing the Nordic Welfare Model) she is responsible for research on Care in Ageing and Diversifying Societies. Together with Professor Gabrielle Meagher, University of Sydney she is presently writing a synthesising report for REASSESS on Nordic care services in international comparison.
